Walking on Water

Walking on Water

Not a trace

of a footprint

nor the sound

of a footfall

Not a sign

Of a marker

nor the sight

Of a trail

Just the wild

Just the gentle

Just the landscape

and a sea

of merging

misty dreams

no longer mine

to have

and to hold

each step in

and Love

and Hope.

And the silent

song grows

loud and

Here I Am.

I know the way

To the summit

About Nikki Brighton

I live in a Magic Cottage near the mist-belt forest with my African dog, Dizzy. We enjoy long walks in the fields to gather wild greens, sitting on the verandah with a pot of tea, and harvesting vegetables outside the kitchen door.
