Vote for Us!

We know many people were enthralled as the Mayday for Rivers team explored the uMngeni river, posting daily updates on the journey. We even heard tales of followers logging in at the crack of dawn, eager for their daily “river fix”!

This blog has been nominated as Best Environmental Blog in the SA Blog Awards for 2012.

We need YOU, your friends, family and colleagues to vote!  The public vote phase will run from 19 Dec 2012 until 28 Dec 2012 at 23:59.  All you have to do is click on the big yellow badge on the right of this page. Easy peasy.

Let’s do our best to ensure that everyone in South Africa is inspired by the Mayday for Rivers initiative and spread the message.  If we win, it will be fantastic publicity for our cause and a great start to 2013 – The International Year of Water Cooperation.

Many thanks – Penny, Pandora, Penz, Preven and Mike

About Nikki Brighton

I live in a Magic Cottage near the mist-belt forest with my African dog, Dizzy. We enjoy long walks in the fields to gather wild greens, sitting on the verandah with a pot of tea, and harvesting vegetables outside the kitchen door.

More excitement around the uMngeni River Walk: a Blog of the Year award up for grabs!. Apart from the Walk’s important focus on river health, it’s given many of us so much enjoyment as we have followed this journey. It is a generous gesture to the uMngeni River and the Duzi, and equal in its generosity in inviting us to ‘participate’ in this journey. Thank you for what you have done and what you are continuing to do. May your band of admirers grow in 2013…
