Where to Next?

Penny is in the final throes of planning the next river walk which will take place during the last week of September.  Any guesses? r Lions 2

It looks like some of the river is in serious trouble.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been unable to complete contacting all the landowners (only 4 of 96 to go) and thus can’t divulge which river we will be taking our stroll along.  The river is only a third of the length of the uMngeni and the walk will only take a week. Amazingly though, there are the same number of landowners as on the uMngeni. I will let you know all about it in a blog post soon.

In the meantime, if you know anyone who would be prepared to donate any pre-cooked dinners or ingredients, we would be most grateful. We plan to camp the seven nights this time, so anything that can be heated in pots will be perfect. Our team is smaller – two support crew and four walkers whose identity will be revealed in my next blog….

We are grateful to the Midlands Conservancies Forum who have secured funding from the N3 Toll Concession to cover basic costs.

About Nikki Brighton

I live in Howick, between the river and the hills. I enjoy pre-dawn walks in the streets with my dog, sitting on the veranda with crochet and tea, and harvesting vegetables outside the kitchen door.
